Reginald Biggs Clarke

1872–1919 | Musician and composer

Reginald Biggs Clarke was born on 13 July 1872 at Topcroft, Tauranga. He was named Biggs after Major Biggs, who was killed in the Poverty Bay massacre. 

He was baptised by Reverend Bruce, and married Lydia Woods. 

Reginald became a well-known musician and composer in London. 

He died there in 1919. 

Some of his pieces were played at the Clarke family reunion in 1989.
