Martha Blomfield Clarke — known as Minnie — was born in Hobart on 9 January 1860. She taught in Poppy's school and devoted much of her later life to the problems of the blind, translating many books into Braille. Like her sister Poppy, she lived at Summerhome in Moonah. She died in Hobart on 6 August 1951, aged ninety-one, just weeks after her sister Poppy.
